3D printing has become an essential technology. It is used in cutting-edge fields such as aerospace, automotive, medical etc. and in all sectors, even by the general public.

We support you in making your 3D objects and for a variety of applications: prototyping, display, creation of aesthetic and functional objects. The patented high speed technology of our printers considerably speeds up the printing process which undeniably reduces costs.

At its manufacturing centre covering 250 m2 in the heart of Lyon, X3D Group prints your files in 3D UPLOADED HERE on several machines. Patented technology is based on the SLA (Stereolithography Apparatus) process which, in particular, offers excellent surface quality.

In order to implement your high-quality prints at very competitive prices, we follow a well-defined business process according to key steps:

The file design :

Before starting any 3D print, it is necessary to have a file containing the 3D drawing of the object to be printed. For that, there are 3 different sources:

  • 3D CAD software is available such as Autodesk, Solidworks, Catia, Sketchup and others.
  • It is possible to use digitization technology. This technology is used to capture the shape of an existing model by scanning and digitally restoring it in a file.
  • Finally, you can also download your files from several websites.

The selection of criteria

Once our software has scanned your file, you can select the criteria of your choice for optimal 3D printing to match your needs. It is therefore possible to choose:

the scale. Our software calculates the dimensions of your models. It is possible to increase or reduce the scale of models printed in 3D. Our printers can currently print in the following maximum dimensions:

X 384 x Y 216 x Z 384 mm. If a bigger volume is needed, it is possible to print the model in 3D and assemble the pieces. The minimum dimensions are 0.5 x 0.5 x 0.5 mm. Do not hesitate to contact us here for a feasibility study.

the type of material: To address the broadest possible range of applications, we develop a range of consumables simulating the properties of acrylics (such as ABS, for example). In addition, our industrial systems are the only ones in the world to offer open-source materials technology, which allows us to collaborate with our customers on specific projects. We have defined three standards to guide you:

- PreciX Pro: a solid material with exceptional smooth surface quality This resin offers lower than 100μ accuracy and also supports a wide range of colours. This range is perfect for any aesthetic object (Look & Feel).

- Precix Tech: more technical, combining precision (50 μ) with the strength of the object, ideal for objects containing details requiring bending capabilities. This range offers the ability to create functional and aesthetic models.

- PreciX Soft: much softer material, simulating the properties of rubber and offering a light transparency.

the colour. We offer a wide range of colours and surface types. - If you opt for PreciX Pro, you can choose three different 3D print modes:

Standard paint: this surface can be coloured with various shades: orange, red, pink, light blue, primary blue, turquoise green, leaf green, dark kiwi, medium grey, beige brown, matt black. Other colours will be added as the range progresses. Do not hesitate to consult us for any specific colour request.

Special paint: Here we offer a range of original and unique colours for 3D printing: chrome, gold or copper effect, fluorescent yellow, pink, orange, or green, phosphorescent green, blue or orange.

Color Dyed: Here, we offer a colour range directly impregnated in the resin: signal green, purple red, dark blue, fuchsia pink.

- If you choose PreciX Tech, your creations will come in chrome yellow, 20% translucent. - Finally PreciX Soft comes in pomegranate red, also 20% translucent.

finishing. Here it is possible to choose the precision of PreciX Tech coating: the coat can be fine (100 μ), very fine (75 μ) or ultra-fine (50 μ). The finer the coat, the better the surface details. recessing. This involves emptying the walls of its content in order to lighten the weight of the object. To do this, the wall should be at least 1 mm thick to maintain its hold and solidity. We perforate parts to facilitate the flow of the resin.

File analysis

Now that you have confirmed your order, we receive your files. Our experts analyze them on our software and pre-process them if necessary. For example, added support may be needed without which certain shapes could not hold during production.

Once your file has been completely reprocessed by our experts, it is transferred to our printers (Rapide400 model).

Printing

This is when the crucial and exciting phase of 3D printing sets into motion!

Our printers use SLA technology (Stereolithography). This photopolymerization process is broken down into several steps:

The file is sliced into several thin layers by the machine software, A sweeper spreads a layer of material just a few microns thick on the top of the sheet containing the resin. ultraviolet (UV) rays in the shape of a layer are sent to the surface of the sheet. UV projection solidifies the shape of the slice of the object.

And so the process is repeated for all the layers which merge together to form the 3D object.

The main advantage of these printers is that UV ray projection is performed in a single flash, which speeds up the printing process. The platform is lowered from 50 to 100 microns on average per layer, gradually revealing the shapes and contours in 3D. The speed of the printers fortunately does not intervene with the quality of our prints. We offer printing resolution of up to 50 µ. The tray of these printers also receives models in maximum dimensions of X 384 x Y 216 x Z 384 mm.

Moreover, as we print around-the-clock, the supply time is optimized so your models are available much faster!

Post-process cleaning

The models are now printed. To increase the resulting quality, our experts perform a finishing process. The aim is to remove the object's supports, wash it and set it if necessary in a UV oven.

Shipping and delivery

Your models are carefully packed and shipped according to your request (pick-up, standard or express delivery).
